Student Spotlight: Emily Johnson

My name is Emily Johnson, I am a second year Master's student in the Plant Science Department. I work in Dr. Macarena Farcuh's lab studying the effect of plant growth regulators on several cultivars of apples in the hopes of making production easier for growers in the mid-Atlantic region. I was a finalist in the Cornerstone event in 2023 and received an Outstanding Education Materials Award from the ASHS with another lab member. I've learned a lot through both extension outreach and research in the department and I'm looking forward to applying my education outside of the university!
