The University of Maryland Agronomic On-Farm Trials Program is designed to expand the ability of the agronomy programs at University of Maryland to perform applied research answering timely applied agronomic questions for Maryland farmers. By conducting more trials on private farms, there is potential to gather more data across a broader range of geographic conditions in Maryland. The Trials also provide an opportunity for Maryland farmers to immerse themselves in agronomic research and collect meaning data from their operations.
The Maryland Grain Producers Utilization Board sponsor the University of Maryland Agronomic On-Farm Trials Program, led by Dr. Nicole Fiorellino, Extension Agronomist. MGPUB funding provides support for the On-Farm Trials Coordinator, Mr. Gene Hahn, and provides compensation to farmers who participate in the trials.
