2017-2018 Sustainable Growth Challenge Winners

Congratulations to our first year MLA students whose Southwest Charter School, Baltimore MD Site Inventory project was chosen as one of this year's Sustainable Growth Challenge award winners. The team of Sherry Russell, Sarah Turner and Sarah Wallace, led by Dr. Kweon impressed the awards review team with their detailed and integrated analysis that informed their project. The review team was struck by the level of engagement with and participation of the school populations, and by the stunning results.

The annual awards sponsored by the Maryland Sustainable Growth Commission, part of the Maryland Department of Planning, will be presented on March 26.

This is the second year in a row that a team from the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture has won this award.
