College and Outside Scholarships
Academically talented students can apply for College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR) merit scholarships. A separate application is required once an admit decision is rendered by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Priority is given to those students who have submitted a complete application to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by the November 1 priority deadline. In addition to college scholarships, talented students will also be considered for University's merit scholarships. Details and information on freshmen and transfer student merit scholarships can be found listed on the UM's Financial Aid/Scholarships web page.
Scholarship Universe
Newly admitted undergraduate and IAA students can access the application from their Scholarship Universe account after logging in at https://umd.scholarshipuniverse.com/.
**To access SU, the student will need to activate their Directory ID and set up their MFA (duo) to be able to log in. Directions on this process will be on their admitted student checklists so you can refer them there.**
Once on the platform they should be able to see from their Dashboard scholarships they are eligible to apply for, including our New Student Scholarship Application. I've attached a screenshot to show where on the dashboard the matched awards will show.
Students can also access the application directly from the link below (after logging in): https://go.umd.edu/26rf
Students have until March 1 to complete their applications. When the application closes, those who assist with application review for this process will begin our review using the Scholarship Universe Platform. There will be more information on that to come as well as some training for those involved.
Multiple scholarships, fellowships, and award opportunities are open for our graduate students via gradschool.umd.edu. Visit their website for current lists, deadlines and application instructions. Note: For awards requesting departmental recommendations, please contact the Executive Administrative Assistant (psla@umd.edu) in the PSLA Chair's Office no later than 3 weeks prior to the due date of the award for which you are applying.
